EBOLA VIRUS DISEASE – THE TRUTH OF THE GOSPEL CAN NOT BE SUPPORTED BY ANY FALSITY!

EBOLA VIRUS DISEASE – THE TRUTH OF THE GOSPEL DOES NOT NEED ANY LIE TO STAND! Olalekan Sam

I’ve read some posts by some – can I call them ‘Zealous/Over-Zealous’, or I should call them ‘half-baked/Lazy’ – Christians, about one John G. Lake, who through his Holy Ghost Team stopped the spread of the dreaded and deadly Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), from spreading in his own generation, and that we Christians of this age and time should stand up through the Healing powers of the Holy Spirit do same, now that the virus is spreading.

I believe absolutely in the healing power of God, manifesting through His Spirit, the Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus Christ. I also believe that God can do all things, healing all manners of sicknesses and diseases. But, certain things must be put straight here, in order to avoid mockery of the Christian faith, the unquestionable and incomparable healing power of God, and the ingenuity and the reality of the claims of God’s previous testimonies and records of healings.

John G. Lake (John Graham Lake) was a pentecostal preacher who lived between March 1870 and September 16, 1935. He lived and died even before the ‘official’ discovery of the Ebola Virus Disease.

The Ebola Virus Disease was first discovered in 1976 in Sudan, consisting of the present day Sudan and South Sudan.

John G. Lake never visited the then Sudan. He only had his missionary works in Africa in South Africa.

The Ebola Virus Disease has not been recorded in the South Africa.

With all of these facts and more, I want to categorically state for the records, that the power of God can destroy any disease, EVD included anytime, any day, but that there is no record of God doing so through the ministry of John G. Lake.

Those spreading this posts should verify the(ir) claims and desist appropriately, irrespective of the(ir) motive(s) for the spread, because one can not use lies to spread the gospel of Christ, neither must one use lies to substantiate the veracity of the power of God to heal, nor use lies to encourage Christians to be more committed to God whose name is the TRUTH (John 14:6)!

You can not continue to walk in craftiness, nor be handling the word and works of God deceitfully, and still be claiming to be doing God’s work or ministry! 2Corithians 4:2 Do not attempt to help God. He’s more than able to do His work.

Thank you and God bless.

PART OF MY THOUGHTS ON RELIGIONS!

MY THOUGHT ON RELIGION

Considering the level of heinous crimes such as killings, kidnapping, (forceful) abductions, severe punishments, etc, committed against the un-armed and innocent, by some Armed people claiming to be defending what God had said sometimes back, and recorded in their book of worship in their religion, and also considering the fact that the same God had at sundry times spoken different things to different generations, in that same book of worship of their religion, I’m therefore asking: WHAT IS GOD SAYING TO THIS GENERATION, AT THIS MOMENT?

READY TO WORK?

Memorise: Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, Philippians 3:13

Read: Philippians 3:12-14

12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Message

Climbing new heights in your assignment will require a new level of diligence. When you ask God to enlarge your coast, you are inviting “trouble” because the bigger the church or assignment, the harder you work. When we were a smaller church, I could sit down with some of my children and we would eat, drink, gist and enjoy ourselves. But now, I may see them once in three years and our exchange of pleasantries normally goes thus: “Long time, no see” and the reply would be: “Is that how it is now, Daddy?” Similarly, years ago, I used to attend Sunday service at our Ebute Metta (Lagos) headquarters. I recall once that I was there for 16 Sundays while taking a series, but now, if they see me once a month, they will rejoice. If you truly desire the next level in ministry, you must be prepared to work. You must put aside past achievements and be ready to take on more volume of work and welcome fresh assignments like Paul. This is why he said:

“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,” Philippians 3:13

It is ironic that what is pegging the promotion of some people is what they have already accomplished. If you meet them, they will tell you to go and check their track record. Ask them, ‘Is there any present testimony?’ The answer is ‘No, but in the past, I achieved this or that’. It is good to give yourself a pat on the back, but also tell yourself that you have not started. While most people were envious of Paul and some were wishing they could do a fraction of what he did, he was saying he had no record of past achievements, as his major concern was what he could achieve now. On the other hand, some people who want to move on to higher levels of God in ministry, lack the capacity to cope with the assignment. If you really want to go up, you will prepare yourself in many ways. You will acquire more education; attend more seminars, workshops and trainings to equip you more. You will find out better, cheaper and faster ways of doing what you do. Are you truly ready for something higher?

Action Point: Identify areas where you could improve your capacity to take on greater responsibilities and work on it.

THE JUDGEMENT

MEMORY VERSE: “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” Hebrews 9:27

BIBLE PASSAGE: REVELATIONS 20:4-15

INTRODUCTION:

Judgement is imminent. Whether we believe it or not we are going to give account of all that we do here on earth, whether it be good or bad, righteous or wicked. We will all appear before the One whom God has appointed to judge all, Jesus Christ.

OUTLINES

1. TYPES OF JUDGEMENT
2. THE CRUCIAL JUDGEMENTS

TYPES OF JUDGEMENT

The Bible speaks of at least seven different judgements:
i. The Saviour on the cross being judged for our sins.
ii. The believer’s self-judgement- 1 Corinthians 11:31; 2 Corinthians 13:5.
iii. The judgement of the believer’s works- Romans14:10; 1 Corinthians 5:10-11.
iv. The judgement of Israel during the Great Tribulation- Ezekiel 20:30-44.
v. The judgement of nations when sheep will be separated from goats at the second coming of Christ- Matthew25:31-46.
vi. The judgement of the fallen angels reserved in darkness waiting – Jude 6-7; 2 Peter2:4.
vii. The judgement of the wicked dead- Revelations20:11.12,15; Acts 7:21; Romans 2:16.

THE CRUCIAL JUDGEMENTS

These are the two major final judgements for both believers and unbelievers:

a) The Judgement Seat of Christ.
This is the judgement of believers where each person’s work will be tested with fire – 1 Corinthians 3:13.Also, to be tested are: our words, our thoughts, our secrets, our motives. This judgement will take place after the rapture – Matthew 16:27; Matthew 12:36-37; Matthew15:19-20;Romans2:16;2Corinthians 5:14.

b) The Great White Throne Judgement
This is the judgement of the wicked. The sinners and all that reject Jesus Christ and the fallen angels. They will be judged according to their works as recorded in the book of life. It is going to be an impartial and open judgement – Revelations 20:5; Revelations 20:11-15; Matthew7:21-23.

CONCLUSION

Where will you appear? It is a crucial decision Judgement Seat of Christ or the Great White Judgement. The choice is yours.

Questions

1. State four types of judgements in the Bible.
2. Describe the judgement of the Great White Throne.
