MEMORY VERSE: “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.” Revelation 22:12

BIBLE PASSAGE: Luke 19:11-19
11  And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear

12 He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return

13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come

14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying We will not have this man to reign over us.

15 And it came to pass that when he was returned having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading

16 Then came the first, saying Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.

17 And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.

18 And the second came saying Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.

19 And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.
Reward is something given to or received by someone in appreciation for work done. Reward could either be positive or negative, depending on the nature of what is done, whether good or bad (Esther 6:1-3,11; 2 Kings 5:26-27). Usually, the quality of the reward is proportional to the quality of the work done. Also, there is earthly and heavenly reward. Earthly reward is temporal while heavenly reward is eternal (John 6:27).

Believers who endure to the end in Christ will enjoy the following glory. They will reign with Christ (2Timothy 2:12), have free and unlimited access to the tree of life (Revelations 2:7), have power over nations (Revelations 2:26), be clothed in white raiment(Revelations 3:5a), be the pride of Jesus before the Father and the angels (Revelations 3:5c), behold the awesome glory of Christ (John 17:24), be pillars in the presence of the Father (Revelations 3:12), be seated with Christ on His throne (Revelations 3:21), inherit all things (Revelations 21 :7), and shine as the stars (Daniel 12:3).
Those who desire to partake of the future glory and reward must:
1. Be faithful to God till the end (Luke 19:17; 1Corinthians 4:2).

2. Overcome every form of temptation and ungodliness in the world (James 1:12).

3. Be diligent in the business of the Master (Hebrews 6:11-12; Luke 19: 13).

4. Live a consistent lifestyle of holiness (1John 3:2-3).

5. Endure trials offaith (2Timothy 2:10).

6. Diligently seek the Lord in all things till the end (Hebrews 11:6).

7. Willing to forsake all things to follow Christ (Matthew 19:27, 29).
Different crowns would be given to the saints who endure to the end.
These include:
1. Incorruptible crown for those who finish the race well and strong (1Corinthians 9:24-25).

2. Crown of rejoicing for the soul-winners (1Thessalonians2:16-19).

3. Crown of righteousness for those waiting for the coming of Christ (2 Timothy 4:8).

4. Crown of glory for the true and committed ministers of the gospel (1 Peter 5:4).

5. Crown of life for those who are faithful till the end (IRevelations 2:10).
To have the hope of receiving any eternal reward you must first make it to heaven. To make it to Heaven, you must be born again and be holy (John 3:3). Beloved, are you truly born again?
1. What are the future glory and rewards that await the victors?

2. What are the conditions for future glory and rewards?

3. Mention four types of crowns and for whom?
Have a blessed week with the Holy Spirit.

TINUBU, ONDO STATE governorship election, ONDO STATE gubernatorial, inec, primary election, senator borofice,

To all keen observers of the political activities and romance in Ondo State, one thing should be of great interest: the plurality of aspirants jostling for the most coveted seat in the Sunshine State, all of whom are eminently qualified to provide governance and economic policies that may rescue the State from going bankrupt in the nearest future.
Equally interesting is the the fact that two political parties have equal likelihood of winning the gubernatorial election slated for 26th of November, 2016.
Surprisingly and expectedly, the battle for the ticket of the All Progressives Congress among the over 20 aspirants has assumed a dangerous dimension in the last few days. This is primarily caused by the alleged preference of the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for a particular aspirant and alleged doctoring of the delegates’ list by the State Chairman of the party to favour another aspirant. While both the National leader and the State Chairman of the party had dispelled the allegations, there is always an element of truth in every rumour.

One thing that is certain is that the good people of Ondo State have a way of rejecting any form of imposition of unpopular candidates and this will continue to be until His kingdom come.
(History has it, that) In the build up to the 1979 general elections, the late sage Chief Obafemi Awolowo and his political associate, Late Chief Adekunle Ajasin, both flew to Oka Akoko to impose late Chief Olukoju as the candidate of the UPN for the House of Assembly election against the wish of the people of Oka. So convinced of their reasons for not wanting Chief Olukoju of blessed memory, the people of Oka were led by some prominent persons, most of whom are already in the great beyond, out of the popular UPN in the region to the unpopular NPN to pursue their interest in the emergence of Late Hon Folayegbe. Oka therefore became the only constituency that produced opposition to the ruling UPN in the old Ondo State. The leaders of that struggle, most of whom were civil servants, were dealt with by Governor Adekunle Ajasin but they were happy to have had their wish done and one of them, Late Hon Ogedengbe, a victimized Secondary school principal at that time, would later be appointed Minister of the Federal Republic by President Shehu Shagari. The leaders of the party came to impose but the electorates had their ways.
In 2003, late Chief Adefarati was imposed on us by the leaders of AD who are mostly Afeniferes, but the good people of Ondo State opted instead for late Dr Olusegun Agagu.
In 2007, Ebora of Africa politics, the only Baba Iyabo well known to all, Oloye Aremu Olusegun Obasanjo, was in Akure to impose late Agagu on the good people of Ondo State, but my people decided to take money from their slim purses to finance the election of the incumbent governor WHO COULD NOT HIDE HIS FEELINGS AT CAMPAIGN GROUNDS BY ALWAYS CRYING AT THE SIGHT OF THE CROWD WHO WERE BENT ON ENSURING HIS VICTORY AT THE POLL WITHOUT FINANCIAL INDUCEMENT.
2012 is still very fresh in our memories when the Lagos candidate failed woefully even at his poling unit. The rest of the story we all know.
If the man at the Bourdillon, Oko Senator Oluremi, the Jagaban of Nigeria politics, feels that his preferred candidate is the best for the job, the APC delegates in Ondo State tell him who they feel is the right man by the ballot on the 27th of this month. After all, the essence of elections is for the people to choose who to govern them and never to choose who to lead them to worship a godfather.
Tinubu is a human being like all of us who has the right to associate with any person of his choice. He has not done anything wrong under the law or in the temple of morality. Stop insulting him who is a great achiever and a great actor in the democracy we all enjoy today.

It has been prophesied that this world will one day come to an end. One of the events of the end time is the judgement, the crucial judgement.

LESSON FIFTY Sunday, 14th August 2016

Memory Verse: “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” – Hebrews 9:27

BIBLE PASSAGE: Revelation 20:11-15

Judgment is one of the common destinies awaiting all men (Hebrews 9:7). Believers and unbelievers, the young and old, the rich and poor, will all face judgment. The judgment will not be corporate but personal. As there is more than one resurrection, there is more than one judgment. Some of the judgments the Bible speaks about include the believers’ selfjudgment at the communion table (1Corinthians 11:29-31), the judgment of the believers at the judgment seat of Christ (2Corinthians 5:10), the judgment of the nations (Matthew 25:32) and the judgment of the unsaved at the Great White Throne (Revelations 20:11). In this lesson, our focus is on the judgment of the believers and the judgment of the unsaved.

Believers will no longer be judged for sin, as long as they do not go back to sin. The believers’ sins, which have been repented of and forsaken, have been judged in Christ at Calvary (Romans 8:1). However, there is a judgment the believers must go through. This is the judgment of the believers’ works for the purpose of rewards (Matthew 16: 27).
 The focus of the judgment:
The quality of work, the motive behind every work and the level of faithfulness (1Corinthians 3:13; 2Timothy 2:20).
 The candidates for the judgment:
The resurrected “dead in Christ” and the living who remain in Christ when He comes at rapture (1Thess. 4:16-17).
 The place of the judgment:
The judgment seat of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:10)
 The time for the judgment:
After Christ’s coming at rapture, during the Marriage supper of the Lamb (Matthew 16:27; Revelations 19:9).
The result of the judgment:
(1). Rewards and crowns for the faithful (1Corinth 3:14; 2Timothy 4:7-8)

(2). Losses for those whose works lack the required divine quality (1 Corin 3:15).
This is the final judgement that will climax the end of this age. The judgment of sinners is certain (Proverbs 11:21).
 The candidates for the judgment:
Those whose names are not in the Book of life (Revelations 20:15. These include the abominable   (homosexuals, lesbians, etc.), all liars, sexually immoral, the friends of the world, idolaters, murderers, thieves etc   (Revelations 21:8).
 The place of the judgment:
The great white throne. God, the impartial and all knowing God sits on the throne (Revelations 20:11).
 The time for the judgment:
After the millennial (One thousand years), reign of Christ on earth (Revelations 20:5-6).
 The result of judgment:
Sinners shall be cast into the lake of fire (Revelations 20:15; Psalm 9:17).
Earthly judgment can be influenced and compromised, divine judgment cannot. It is judgment in righteousness and truth. The judgment of both the saints and the sinners is certain (Galatians 6:7-8).
1. Mention some people who will face the great white throne judgment.

2. Will some be judged righteous at the great white throne judgment?
