23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:
24 To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.
25 Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.
26 For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life.
27 Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?
28 Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?
29 So he that goeth in to his neighbour’s wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent.
32 But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.
33 A wound and dishonour shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away.

CONSECRATION

RCCG SUNDAY SCHOOL MANUAL

LESSON FOUR (4)

Sunday 25th September 2016

TOPIC:- CONSECRATION
MEMORY VERSE: “For Moses had said. Consecrate yourselves today to the LORD, even every man upon his son, and upon his brother; that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day.’’- Exodus 32:29
BIBLE PASSAGE: Judges 13:3-7

INTRODUCTION:

Consecration is a process or practice of making something or someone sacred, dedicated and set for the Lord. It also means the devoting or setting apart anything or anyone to the worship or service of God (Exodus 28:41). The race of Abraham and the tribe of Levi were thus consecrated (Numbers 3:12). According to the Mosaic Law, the first-born both of man and beast were consecrated to God (Exodus 13:2, 12, and 15).
LESSON OUTLINES

1. MEANS AND BENEFITS OF CONSECRATION

2. BROKEN CONSECRATION

1. MEANS AND BENEFITS OF CONSECRATION
A consecrated one is called to live a life of purity, free from sin and contamination. How then can one be consecrated? The call to personal consecration demands that one presents himself wholly to God (Leviticus 11:44; Romans 12:1; 2Chronicles 17:16) and be willing to purge himself of all filthiness of the flesh and spirit (2timothy 2:21; 2Corinthians 7:1). This is made possible through absolute compliance to divine instructions given by God in His word (John 17:17; Psalm 119:9; Ephesians 5:26).

Some of the benefits of consecration are:

1. Overflowing blessings (Exodus 32:29).

2. Overflowing anointing (Hebrews 1:9; 10:38; Acts 5:12).

3. Becoming a chosen Vessel of God (2Timothy 2:21, Acts 9:15).

4. Ever abiding presence of God (Psalm 91:1; Matthews 28:19-20).

5. Outstanding victory without a fight (Proverbs 16:7; 2 Chronicles 20:15-19).
2. BROKEN CONSECRATION

A broken consecration is a state of contamination of a consecrated person. We have examples of consecrated vessels that were contaminated by one thing or the other.

1. Samson’s consecration was broken by his disobedience and lust for strange women (Judges 14:1-3; 8-9).

2. Miriam was a prophetess in (Exodus 15:20-21). But her consecration was broken by envy (Numbers 12:1-10).

3. Moses’s consecration was contaminated by anger (Exodus 14:21-28, Numbers 20:7-12).

4. Gideon was set apart for God’s mighty work of deliverance but pride broke his consecration (Judges 7:20-22; 8:22-27).

5. Comfort contaminated David- the consecrated one (1Samuel 17:34-37, 2Samuel 11:1-27).
CONCLUSION:-

God is calling you to live a consecrated life unto Him as a peculiar person and a royal priesthood and He is waiting to see you exhibiting the life of consecration unto Him. Do not disappoint God.

QUESTIONS:-

1. What are the benefits of consecration?

2. Describe a broken consecration.

LESSON TWENTY Sunday, 18th January 2015

VICTORY OVER SIN ASSURED

MEMORY VERSE: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.” Romans 6:6

INTRODUCTION: Assurance of victory over sin begins with assurance of sin forgiven. Sin forgiven with the blood of the Lord Jesus and not with the blood of bulls and goats or the law (Hebrews 10:4).This means the power of sin is destroyed (1Corinthians 15:54-57, Romans 6:14). The law is powerless over sin (Romans 8:2,3), but grace helps us to overcome sin (Titus 2:11,12).

OUTLINES

1. ASSURANCE OF VICTORY OVER SIN
2. THE JUST SHALL LIVE BYFAITH

ASSURANCE OF VICTORY OVER SIN

For us to be sure of our victory over sin, we must hear and believe the word of God. God said, His Son, the Lord Jesus, died and destroyed sin; for this, we have everlasting life, we shall not come under condemnation, we have passed from death unto life (John 5:24). We have passed from the practice of sin to the practice of righteousness. This is grace. We must know that the power of sin is destroyed; death is swallowed up in victory; the sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. We have victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (1Cor. 15:54b-57). The law cannot give victory over sin, the law is powerless (Romans 8:3, 4). Our old man is crucified with Him. The body of sin has been destroyed, henceforth (from the time of the new birth), we should not serve sin (Romans 6:6). The seed of God is in us (1John 3:9) so we cannot practice sin. Therefore, we are assured of victory as we hear, believe and know that the Lord Jesus has given us victory over sin.

THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH

The JUST here means the RIGHTEOUS. It means to be in right standing with God (Romans 1: 17). The Lord God said sacrifices with the blood of bulls and goats, offerings of all kinds could not please Him, they could not take away sins; it is not possible (Hebrews 10:4). Living by faith here means depending on the finished work of the Lord Jesus on the cross as the only basis for our salvation, righteousness and acceptance with God. The opposite of living by faith is depending on our sacrifices, offerings, observance of holidays, washings, cutting of the body like in circumcision as the basis for our salvation, righteousness and acceptance with God (Galatians 3:1-3; Acts 15:1, 10, 11). When we do not live by faith, we frustrate the grace of God. We are declaring that there was no need for Christ to die (Galatians 2:21). Without faith, it is impossible to please God. Practically, for the righteous, living by faith means taking hold of grace and growing in it (2Peter 3:18; 2Peter 1:5-10; 1Thess. 3:8-10). Add to your faith virtue and all the other attributes of the Holy Spirit.

CONCLUSION

The guarantee for our victory over sin is that we were redeemed with the precious blood of the Lord Jesus. We were not purchased with the ordinances of the law. The power of sin was destroyed. Grace teaches us to say no to sin (Titus 2:11, 12; John 8:11).

QUESTIONS

1. What does living by faith mean?
2. How are we assured of victory over sin?

RCCG SUNDAY SCHOOL

LESSON NINETEEN: Sunday, 11th January 2015

SIN AND ITS CONNECTIONS

MEMORY VERSE: Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.” – Psalm 107: 17

BIBLE PASSAGE: Genesis 3: 1-19

INTRODUCTION: What Is sin? People call sin by various names. Some call it mistake, some call it failure, and some call it human weakness or error. Whatever name you may decide to give to sin, every Christian must know that the immediate or remote destination of any act of sin is death. Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord.”

OUTLINES

1. DEFINITION, ORIGIN AND RESULTS
2. SIN AND ITS CONNECTIONS

DEFINITION, ORIGIN AND RESULTS

Sin means disobeying God and anyone who disobeys the Almighty God is in great danger. Sin also means violation of the perfect holiness of God -1John 3:4. Sin started with Satan -lsaiah14:12-14. Sin entered the world through Adam and Eve. Sin results to spiritual death, Romans 6:23. Unrepentant sinners will forever be separated from God. Not only will a sinner be separated from God, he will be tormented forever in hell-Matthew 25:46. Sin is vain talk-Pr 10:19; foolish thoughts – Proverbs 24:9, unbelief – Romans 14:23, all unriqhteousness, 1John 5:1.7. Sin aqainst The Spirit is unpardonable, Isaiah 63:10, Mark 3:29. Sin is bondage, Proverbs 5:22, 2Peter2:19. Concealment of sin is vain, Genesis 3:8, Ezekiel I8:12. The Bible enjoins us to confess all our sins to God, Leviticus 16:21, 1 John 1:9.

SIN AND ITS CONNECTIONS

Sickness is an agent of death. Sin leads to sickness because sin provides. sickness with a very conducive atmosphere to operate in the life of the sinner. Demons are also agents of death. Anyone who lives in sin is a slave of Satan – Romans6:16, 1John 3:8. Sin always connects the sinner with Satan. Poverty and hunger are agents of death -2Kings 6:24-29. Sin separates from God, Deuter 31:17, Matthew 7:23. It is repugnant to God, Genesis 6:6, righteous people- Genesis 39:7-9, sin causes shame, Genesis 3:10, death, physical and spiritual, Genesis2:17.

CONCLUSION

Sin facilitates sickness, demons, poverty, death and so on while holy living facilitates healthy living, freedom, long life, etc. Are you still connected with Sin? Pray that the blood of Jesus Christ will cleanse all your sins and break every power of sin ruling in your life.

QUESTIONS

1. What is sin and its origin?
2. Mention some of the things related or connected to sin
